Hi Dave.

In reply to the following.

Does any body know what happened to the carrage that exploded in the rail disaster was it buried, vapourised or removed some where else , as the official report was unable to pin point the cause with modern forensics on the remains might help in solving this enigma.

The official report states.
" No traces of the wagon concerned were found except a buffer and socket casting; the remains of the underframe, wheels and axles, were probably driven downward into the crater and subsequently filled over."
I guess they are still down there.

I wonder if anybody has any land near the station or on Soham Mere, that would be willing to let me metal detect or field walk, just to see if any remains flew in that direction. If anyone has, I would be pleased to hear from you.
