We are trying to find out who the Royalists or Puritans were in Soham at the time of the English Civil Wars, and whether Soham was really a Royalist stronghold as tradition has us believe or was it really divided.

Another story has been told to us that Oliver Cromwells pay master also lived in Soham in a cottage that still stands today, research on this is still ongoing.
