Whats the connection with the following ?.

A tradition in Soham that a "calf's head besmeared with blood was hoisted on a pole".
The Calve's Head Club (secret society)
Oliver Cromwell
The English Civil War
King Charles I
Royalists & the Puritans

Answer:- Addison House in Sand St

Recent research has found a secret that Addison House has held for 300 + years.

If you can add anything to this Story or have any information, documents or family legend we would like to hear from you. We are trying to find out who the Royalists or Puritans were in Soham at the time of the English Civil Wars, and whether Soham was really a Royalist stronghold as tradition has us believe or was it really divided.
Just a surname can help us.
Another story has been told to us that Oliver Cromwells pay master also lived in Soham in a cottage that still stands today, research on this is still ongoing.

You can read more about the secret of Addison House in our history pages on Soham Roots
