Hi there.  I am new to the site and wondered if there were any other members out there related to the Horsley family from Soham.

A few other family members and I have formed a research circle and thanks to this site we have managed to trace back our family to the 1500's using the Soham ancestors CD.  The most famous relation that we have found is Robert Horsley, the centenarian, who died aged 103.  I would be very interested to see whether there are any other relatives also looking up our family history!

Hi Teresa,
It has been a while since we communicated but I am glad that you are still researching the Horsleys.  I have been a little quiet recently due to a new job but have now started again.

If anyone is struggling to find a Birth, Marriage or death for a Horsley after 1837 because of the incomplete BMD indexes give me a shout.  I am in the process of compiling my own Horsley BMD indexes for the UK and I would be happy to help.
Regards
Tony

My grandmother was Elizabeth Horsley, daughter of William Horsley and Hannah Murfet. I have the Horsley tree back to the 1620's, and I'm very willing to share.

Hello all,

I am trying to track down all my ancestors.  Lydia Horsley (born 1816?) married Mark Bailey on 29 Oct 1838. Their children were Willson (11 sep 1841),  Mark (1845), Ann Eliza(1848), Eliza (1839), William (1851) and Ann Elizabeth (1856).
I do not know the parents of Lydia.

Also if anyone has any information on other family - John Seamore married Rachel Hatch in Oct 1841. I think John was born at Stretham in 1820 and died 1892 and I think Rachel Hatch was born about 1822 and died about 1882.  Their children were Emma (1842 Stretham), Rebecca (1844 Stretham), William(1846 Sotham) and Rachel (1849 Soham)
Emma Seymour  married Willson Bailey 11 Sep 1841 at Wicken. .

Welcome any information.
Don Bailey

my gggrandparents were William Clements and Elizabeth Horsley.  I come through their daughter Susan who married John Horsley.  Were there 2 families with William Horsley and Elizabeth Clements living in Soham at the same time?  A couple birthdates are close.

Hello Teresa,
I am also new to the site and saw your post about the Horsleys. My great great grandfather Peachey Johnson of Soham, born 1815, was the brother of Charlotte Johnson who married Robert Horsley, Blacksmith, on 13 Apr 1837. They lived at no. 25 Hall St and had one daughter, Eliza, before he died at the early age of 27. She ran the business for about ten years before marrying a James Bridgeman & having 5 more children.
I have traced the Peachey(spelling varies)Johnsons in Soham back to 1743.
I am hoping to find some Johnson info. on this site.
Eleanor
