Hi,

Does anyone have any information about my great-great grandfather Elias Leonard. He was a carpenter who was born in Soham c1849. Information I found from some else's family tree said he used to build gypsy caravans, but so far I haven't found any thing to support this.

1901 cenus shows Elias as a carpenter.

1881 census shoes Elias as a master carpenter & coal merchant employing one man & one boy.

1961 census - Elias aged 12 son of Robert & Amilia.

Hi,
Your Ancestors did indeed build Gypsie Caravans, their works were in Pratt St Soham, the area is now a small housing estate, called Harrison Court.
