I have been researching my Murfet ancestors for a long time and I have just found something which I would like to share.

My great grandparents were James Murfet and Ann Taylor, who married in Soham in 1821. Until now, nobody knew where James came from or who his parents were. I have found out that he was born in Littleport, baptised there in 1799, and his parents were John Murfet and Susanna Vincent. The interesting thing is that John Murfet was the eldest son of Langman Murfet and Margaret Tebbit.

This links my ancestors to huge numbers of Murfets all over the world, so I'm pretty pleased! I hope this is of interest to others, who might have been stuck up till now.
