I have been trying to find out as much as possible about Melton House (1 Townsend).  I can find very little mention of it anywhere, maybe as it is right on the edge of the village.  I know it used to be called Aylesford House in the late 1800's from an old map but still cannot find much out.  I know who held the mortgages from 1870's onwards as have the deeds but would really like to know about the house itself due to its unusual two halves, one half being Georgian and then the other side is victorian, does anyone know when it was extended?  Any info about the house would be greatly appreciated.
