Its a shame Soham has not got a large supermarket, having to travel to Ely or Newmarket to do your shopping is a real pain. Travelling to Ely is also taking longer than it used to, 40 minutes the other day, for a six mile trip, all because of the queue at the rail crossing. I think the shops in Soham out price themselves, making it cheaper to drive elsewhere for what you need, although the selection of goods you can buy in Soham is very poor anyway. unless you like takeaways, there's not much else.
What has happened to Soham, no Market any more, the Town centre has hardly any shops, if you take away the 11 fast food outlets & cafe's, 4 public houses, Estate agent, Solicitors etc and empty shops.
